Hi! I was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. Our family's ranch has been with us since the 1940's, and I spent a lot of time there growing up. My mother worked with underserved populations, as a counselor, while I was growing up. The Texas Panhandle is a diverse population for ethnicities, being one of seven main refugee resettlement sites for the US, and culture. This diversity has impacted my creative work of blending the Native American, Latin American and classic cowboy culture, as well as other world cultures. My younger brother has multiple disabilities, and I hold a special place for him and others with disabilities.
I started making comics and characters at a very early age. It's difficult to describe why I love visual arts when it's been a lifelong passion. I find bringing imagination, inspiration and experiences to life to be what I have always been drawn to. It's what can connect us as people, and I love that. I think art is also about connection, as well as expression.
In my free time I am dedicated to my health and fitness. I have recently taken up boxing and rarely miss a workout day! I love spending time with my friends and family and prefer outdoor activities like hanging out at the beach, rafting, hiking and helping out at the family ranch.
